Design Inspiration
The Paisley pattern, inspired by the "Tree of Life" motif, serves as the main subject of the design. Its teardrop-shaped outline and intricate scrolling leaf patterns symbolize eternity and the vitality of nature. Originating from ancient Persia and introduced to Europe via Kashmir shawls, it has become a classic symbol of the fusion of Eastern and Western art. The designer has retained its original religious mystique while giving it a modern twist through geometric deformation.
Dynamic Combination of Retro Polka Dots and Optical Art Effects
The black and white polka dot elements draw inspiration from the pop art of the 1970s and French retro styles (such as Audrey Hepburn's classic look in "Breakfast at Tiffany's"), creating a visual rhythm through regular arrangement. The polka dots contrast with the Paisley curves, and the design incorporates radial lines (inspired by Vasarely's op art works) to create a sense of movement using the principle of visual afterimages. The main color scheme uses black and white to enhance the contour tension of the Paisley pattern. At the same time, traditional dyeing tones such as indigo and ochre are used in some areas to echo the batik technique. It stimulates the texture differences between silk and cotton linen through semi-transparent layering to enhance the tactile association of the image.
